In 2001, MBET hired 12 marine biology graduate students, who scoured Marine Biology literature for all reported compounds with human benefit.  Over 3400 compounds were identified in the initial evaluation.

Hundreds of volunteers distilled the 3400 compounds down to 88 distinctive marine extracts.

At that point a team of doctors of many disciplines, pharmacists, marine biologists, pharmaceutical experts, patent lawyers, businessmen and regulators and, pharmaceutical businessmen came to together to create the final product, Natural Marine Extract.
